OpenTAP Branding and Usage Guidelines
Overview
OpenTAP is an open source test automation framework that enables efficient, flexible, and scalable test execution across diverse environments. It is supported by Keysight Technologies and forms an integral part of Keysight’s PathWave Test Automation ecosystem.
Our mission is to promote collaboration in the test automation community while maintaining clear, consistent brand representation when referring to OpenTAP, Keysight, or PathWave Test Automation.
Brand Names and References
When referencing OpenTAP in written or visual materials
Always write “OpenTAP” as one word with a capitalized “O” and “TAP.”
Avoid abbreviations or variations such as “Open Tap” or “Opentap.”
When describing the platform, you may use phrases like “built with OpenTAP” or “powered by OpenTAP.”
When referring to Keysight Technologies
Use the full name “Keysight Technologies” in initial references and simply “Keysight” in subsequent mentions.
Keysight is the developer and primary sponsor of the OpenTAP project.
When describing PathWave Test Automation
• Use the full name “PathWave Test Automation” on first reference.
• It may be described as “Keysight PathWave Test Automation (built on OpenTAP).”
Logo Usage
Proper and consistent logo use helps maintain visual integrity across communications.
OpenTAP Logo
Use the official OpenTAP logo only in accordance with the OpenTAP community style guidelines.
Do not alter the proportions, colors, or orientation of the logo.
Place the OpenTAP logo on a solid or neutral background for maximum legibility.
When co-branding, maintain clear space between the OpenTAP logo and any other brand mark.

Keysight Logo
The Keysight logo is a registered trademark of Keysight Technologies.
Written permission must be obtained from Keysight before using its logo or any derivative in marketing, documentation, or promotional assets not authored by Keysight.
Keysight’s brand standards govern logo sizing, placement, and color usage; alterations are not permitted.

Co-Branding and Attribution
If you use both OpenTAP and Keysight brand elements:
Clearly differentiate between open source contributions (OpenTAP) and commercial software offerings (Keysight PathWave Test Automation).
Use the attribution line: “OpenTAP is an open source project sponsored by Keysight Technologies.”
Any external publication or branding material that includes both logos should undergo brand compliance review by the OpenTAP community and, when involving commercial Keysight branding, by Keysight’s marketing department.
